Chris & Mel Bond's Viva Las Vegas Wedding.

16th June 2017.

The Name's Bond, Chris Bond! James Bond may well have been in Vegas for the1971 movie Diamond's Are Forever, but it was his namesake Chris who married his sweetheart Mel at The Little White Chapel in May 2017. Fast forward to Friday June 16th, and it's the ceremony for the family and friends back in England. It was the first wedding I've shot for my side of the family, as Chris' mum, Shirley, is my cousin.

I arrived at the couple's house in Haydock, and set about taking photographs. I was able to capture great shots of Chris' young nieces and nephews, and lots of relatives I'd never met before. It was great to have a catch up natter with Shirley. After capturing all the nessecary photo's, the stretch limousine arrived to ferry the guys to St. Helens Register Office for the ceremony. I stayed behind to take more shots of the girls having fun, and waiting for the limo to return and ferry the girls. I jumped in with them, and was able to get some great shots on the way down.

The ceremony was different from a normal Register Office wedding, as it was more like a blessing of their marriage, and not a legal wedding service, as the original marriage had already taken place. Although there was an exchange of rings, there wasn't a signing of the register, but a commemorative certificate was signed instead. I captured lots of great images from the ceremony, and afterwards went into the small garden at the rear for the obligatory group photos. I captured some nice poses of the couple.

Then it was a short wait for the limousine to transport us to the evening reception at Haydock Conservative club, which looks a lot bigger inside than it does outside.Table decorations were Vegas style, and the unusual Cake consisted of a small 'Normal' top tier, with cupcakes underneath. The decoration was a 'Married In Fabulous Las Vegas sign' and dice and gaming chips around the bottom of the cake. The colour scheme was Red and Black as found on playing cards and casino chips. Each table had a centerpiece of Playing Cards in a cocktail glass with casino chips and photobooth props for selfies. I was given a Vegas Instagram Frame to use.The buffet included curry and chips (what else can you have at a Vegas wedding but chips), which were some of the nicest I'd tasted in a long time. The first dance, unusually, was to Oasis' 'Wonderwall', and the couple were joined on the dancefloor by the guests. It was then time for me to return to Southport after what St. Helens folk would call 'A memorable do!'

Upon receiving the photographs Chris wrote "(The Photos) Arrived, and we are over the moon with them! Thank you very much. We will definitely reccomend you to friends and family,"
