If you asked me to describe Colin & Joanne, I'd say they were a lovely, down to earth couple with no airs or graces. Col hails from my home town of St. Helens, and I actually know some of his family. In fact his sister was my daughter's school lolipop lady. Jo is from Liverpool,  They're a really nice couple, really friendly. 

St. George's Hall is arguably Liverpool's most prestigious wedding venue. This imposing historic building was built in the early 1800's in the Neo Classical style as a venue for concerts and to house Liverpool's courts that operated until the 1980's. It has hosted many events, including the recent Dreamworks and Narnia exhibitions. This was my first wedding in this mgnificent Grade II listed building, and I was looking forward to photographing there, on the anniversary of Colin & Joanne's first kiss exactly a year earlier.

My brief was simple: Capturing the moment was the couple's desired photographic style, and lots of Black and White photography was requested by Colin. Joanne also liked the vintage edits I showed her from my previous weddings. 

I met Groom Colin and his best man just after 10.00 AM and set about photographing the small details before the bridal party arrived. Colin's two daughters were the flower girls, and I captured their arrival with their gorgeous Grandmother, before the arrival of our beautiful bride Joanne in a stunning replica vintage limousine. After taking photographs of the bride's entrance through the majestic main doors of St. Georges Hall. it was up the stairs to the elegant Grand Jury Room, where the traditional ceremony took place in front of the invited guests. Joanne was seen wiping a tear from her eye as the couple exchanged vows, yet was looking positively radiant as Colin gently slipped the ring upon her finger.

After the photographs outside the hall, it was on to the Park Hotel for the wedding breakfast.  I captured many candid shot's of the guests enjoying themselves, the speeches, and up to the Romantic first dance. One of the first dance photo's I took has been specially edited with the sheet music from their first dance song, "Thinking Out Loud" by Ed Sheeran.
